I had never managed to take a photograph of a barn owl before, always hearing them outside my bedroom window at night, but never managing to spot one.
Travelling home just before dusk, I often see them fly by the river, gently swooping in the air.
The barn owl’s heart-shaped face collects sound in the same way as human ears. Its hearing is the most sensitive of any creature tested. I love the colour and softness of the feathers that frame the face.
Lovely Portrait!
